I’m glad this is finally over…
Jake Delhomme finally got cut by the Carolina Panthers. Actually, I should say that the Panthers finally got smart and cut Delhomme. He wasn’t even remotely worth the extension they gave him last year and now that he’s had the worst season of his career they FINALLY figured out he wasn’t working out.
This move makes room to move Matt Moore into the starter’s role–which makes perfectly good sense because Moore played great at the end of last season. The offense in Carolina is sure to improve without Delhomme screwing everything up in the backfield. They already have a running game and now they might have a smart QB taking the ball every snap.
I guess what gets me about this move is the way Delhomme reacted. Now, no one likes–or wants to–get fired. I can understand that. I really can. However…
Jake Delhomme told the media he was “blindsided” by the release and then he had a press conference to address getting cut and he CRIED. IN PUBLIC!!!
Like I said, no one likes to get fired, but this jerk is so out of touch with reality that he cried over being cut by an NFL team. He cried because he’s already a millionaire and he cried because the Panthers still owe him $12 million in GUARANTEED MONEY. Yes, that means they owe him a check for $12 million that he is GUARANTEED under the contract they just released him from.
He’s rich and he cried. What a jerk. There are people losing their jobs everyday and most of them can handle it like civilized adults and Jake Delhomme is crying in front of the media. UGH!
Please tell me that Matt Moore is going to be better because these NFC South teams are really starting to honk me off. Go ahead and cry Jake…I’m on to you, and I DON’T feel bad for you.
