Sam Bradford had a workout for some scouts who REALLY want to draft him. I was listening to the radio on the way home yesterday and one reporter who was there said it was the best workout by a QB prospect since Troy Aikman.
Now, that sounds all fine and dandy, but we’re getting all “romantic” about Sam Bradford because his arm is healed and all that and forgetting about all the OTHER QBs who have had great initial workouts.
Rick Mirer got drafted because he had good workouts. So did Ryan Leaf. What about all the guys who didn’t have great workouts–Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson–oh yeah, those guys won Super Bowls. Read more... (319 words, 2 images, estimated 1:17 mins reading time)

You can’t do the same things you did in college.
C. J. Spiller has been invited to attend the NFL Draft in April. A bunch of guys got invitations to attend so they can be called in the 1st Round and hold up the #1 Jersey for their new team. I have no problem with that.
C.J. Spiller getting an invitation confuses me. I know he’s a talent. I know his stats from Clemson, but I’ve seen this story before and it never ends well. Skill players of his ilk can do fine in the NFL, but they fall prey to alot of stupid things that teams do to utilize the players and instead they overuse them. Read more... When Jerry Jones was talking to the media the other day he mentioned the possibility of Felix Jones starting at Running Back next season. I’m very confused since Marion Barber is so good–even if he had knee problems this season. I know that when Running Backs gets older they lose a step, but has Barber shown he’s lost a step yet–or was he just hurt this year? Read more... Are the Browns the big player here?
Jimmy Clausen is set to meet with St. Louis, Washington, Cleveland, Buffalo and Jacksonville leading up to the NFL Draft in a couple weeks. Why do many teams? Why so many at the top? Why some that kind of already have Quarterbacks?
The Redskins already have Jason Campbell. Are they really willing to give up on Campbell at this point? They spent a 1st Rounder on him and he clearly has the potential–perhaps a steady offense would help? I can’t imagine that anything could be more helpful than Shanahan’s offense. Read more... This mantle stands for: We don’t know how good we’ve got it.
The Eagles are shopping Donovan McNabb and listening to offers. We know that Donovan wants to stay in Philly but the fans hate him for succeeding. Actually, the fans just hate him for no reason, but he still wants to stay in Philly. That says alot about Donovan–he’s a “stick to it” kinda guy.
“I was asked to respond to statements made at the NFL owners meetings that the Eagles would entertain offers to trade any of their three QBs. Here is my response: My position hasn’t changed. I’ve said all along that I would like to win a Super Bowl and finish my career in Philadelphia.” Read more... (284 words, 4 images, estimated 1:08 mins reading time)

So, there was this tape, right? And the tape was a security video of the club where Big Ben allegedly sexually assaulted this college girl, right? Yeah, and he had some policemen travelling with him, right? Yeah. Umm, the tape sort of got taped over.
Really?
This is just hilarious. I don’t even know where to begin. He had policemen with him so did they go in there and ask for the tape so they could tape over it? Does he have some advisors from the Nixon Administration working for him? Are they the kind of people who remember how to erase all the incriminating evidence off the tapes from back in the 70’s and gave him some pointers? Read more... He already took that road right out of the league.
Pacman’s Agent say that the Lions, 49ers, and Bengals are interested in Pacman. Really? The last time I looked your client was a knucklehead, out of the game, and probably still sought by some local law enforcement authority. I know that Pacman was never convicted of anything, but why would these teams want drama? Read more... (333 words, 4 images, estimated 1:20 mins reading time)

The NFL prides itself on parity. The NFL wants every year to be “the year” when somebody can come out of nowhere and make some noise. The NFL needs to keep parity so it can keep making money and putting butts in seats. Well, the NFL has alot of ways of doing that, but one that I particularly like is the compensatory draft pick.
The league uses a formula to determine if the free agents you lost are better than the free agents you signed. If you come out with a net loss under their formula then you can be awarded extra–compensatory–draft picks that year. Read more... (319 words, 4 images, estimated 1:17 mins reading time)

Tim Tebow is undecided as to whether he will be accepting an invitation from the NFL to attend the draft in April. Apparently he’s talking with agent about whether to go or not.
If he’s smart he’ll stay home–here’s why:
No matter what Tebow does he’s going to be panned AND the golden boy at the same time. He’ll be a pariah and a savior. The team that picks him will be expecting him to do SOMETHING and possibly even play Quarterback. Well, because he’s gotten so much attention he needs to make himself look like the “regular joe” who is just going to wait at home like everybody else and wait for the call. Read more... Ok, I saw the trade run across the Crawler on the 4-letter-network and I was very confused. I guess if the Browns want to move Quinn that’s fine since they have Jake Delhomme, but I wasn’t really sure why they would admit to sucking so badly at picking a 1st-Round QB. Well, now I know.
It seems that the Broncos are SAYING they’re happy with Kyle Orton, but Orton is going to skip offseason workouts AND stay pissed that he got a tender-offer instead of being unleashed on the free agent market. Read more... (315 words, 2 images, estimated 1:16 mins reading time)
